Instructor: Maya León-Meis, President and Founder of Voice Productions International

Maya León-Meis has been a professional translator-interpreter and an ATA member for over 25 years. She holds a B.A. in ESL Instruction from the Instituto Pedagógico Nacional Monterrico in Peru, and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Colorado as a Fulbright scholar. She has created and produced the awardwinning training program "Kiss Your Accent Goodbye," consisting of an instruction manual and CDs to improve English pronunciation. Ms.León-Meis is a dynamic presenter and an active promoter of continuing professional

training for translators, interpreters, and voice-over talent.

Workshop: How To Loose Your Accent

Do you want to know how to tame the English pronunciation "Monsters"? Are you afraid of using words like beach, sheet or focus? Then you need this workshop! You will never be afraid of pronouncing ‘good’ words as

‘bad’ words again! Come to this fun seminar to laugh and learn. Maya will present humorous anecdotes so that

you will recognize pronunciation monsters, and will teach you tricks so that you can avoid saying ‘bad’ words.

You will get guidelines to help you feel confident speaking English. You will learn key elements to make a

positive difference in your pronunciation. *Bring a bilingual dictionary that includes the American English

phonetic alphabet, not the British.
