    Known for its unique sound and style, Maryama Band, founded by composer/performer Maryam Mirbagheri, showcases an interesting fusion of genres. The band's sound is a combination of soul/jazz/rock with a spice of Persian and Middle Eastern music. Maryama band is currently featuring Julian Karahalios (Bass), Linnea Sablosky ( Cajon, Voice ), Nick Hon (drums) , Maleke Clemmons (Piano) and Mirbagheri herself ( guitar, Voice).

    About Rohina Malik
    Rohina Malik is a critically acclaimed playwright, actress and solo performance artist. She was born and raised in London, England, of South Asian heritage. Rohina is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, and an artistic associate at the 16th Street Theater. Her work has been produced or developed at The Goodman Theatre, Victory Gardens Theater, 16th Street Theater, Brava Theater, Crossroads Theater, Chicago Dramatists, and Theater Project Baltimore. Rohina was recently awarded the Y Award with the Evanston YWCA for her work to end racism and empower women.
