Iranian Film Festival - Between Screen & Street: Ways of Seeing Women & Gender in Post-Revolutionary Iran

    New Jersey Thursday - November 15, 2012     07:00 PM

During the past two decades, international success by Iranian filmmakers has been due to the questions that Iranian cinema has raised about the meaning of cinema, the role of the filmmaker as an intellectual in a politically and economically unbalanced world, and the place of the audience in relation to the narrative, camera, and the film genre. The films chosen attempt to generate a broad range of discussions on the issue of women, gender, and youth while introducing the rich and ancient culture of Iran.
