Afsaneh Art & Culture Society (AACS) proudly presents Festival of the Silk Road, a full of evening of dance, music and poetry from the Silk Road including Iran, Afghanistan, China, Azerbaijan, India, Indonesia, and Tajikistan on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009. Celebrated in the Bay Area and beyond for presenting gorgeously crafted, authentic and rarely-seen traditional dances from Central Asia and Iran, as well as cutting-edge, contemporary work based on traditional themes, Ballet Afsaneh is the professional performance ensemble of the Afsaneh Art & Culture Society. This dynamic group presents performances and activities throughout the year featuring dance, poetry, and music of the Silk Road —the historic trade route stretching 7,000 miles across Central Asia from the China Sea in the east to the Mediterranean in the west. The Ballet Afsaneh repertoire displays a wide range, from the lush and glittering lyricism of fairytale to incisive, thought provoking, contemporary work. For the Festival of the Silk Road, AACS brings together a group of phenomenal Bay Area dance and musical guests to present a vibrant exploration of the rich cultural traditions of the Silk Road, as well as a not-to-miss pre-performance bazaar including traditional clothing, art, and food. In a seminal convergence of these ancient and influential cultures, the Festival of the Silk Road unites an inspired roster of dance and musical artists including Ballet Afsaneh, the award-winning Chinese Performing Arts of America, Wan Chao Chang Dance Company, Shahrzad Dance Academy, and Niosha Dance Academy. Esteemed musical guests include Tameem Afzali & Friends Afghan Ensemble, Persian music by Neema Hekmat - Pourya Khademi – Kaveh Hedayati & friends, as well as Mohamad Ebrahimi, and Farideh Louie. The musicians draw on a dynamic and rich aural palette to create a shimmering sonic landscape threading through the evening’s performance.

    The key to tomorrows health

    Washington DC Saturday - May 2, 2009     03:00 PM

An international panel of physicians will speak about:
“Help and healing through the teachings of Bruno Groening - medically verifiable”

Everybody who is interested in this topic is warmly invited. This event is free of charge

The experts will present healing reports. Healed persons speak about their healings.

Incomprehensible healings, even so-called incurable illnesses occurred during the public addresses given by Bruno Groening (1906-1959). In every city where Bruno Groening went, thousands of people gathered together with one hope: to be free from disease and pain. The unbelievable took place. Lame people stood up from their wheelchairs. Blind people could see again. Deaf people could hear. Newspapers and TV-stations reported headlines like: "Bruno Groening heals the lame, the blind and the mute".

These healings continue happening today, even after his death. Through the teachings he left behind, his work has continued to grow. In every European country and on every continent, there are numerous communities keeping his teachings alive. Thousands of healings have taken place in all parts of the world, which are then checked and carefully documented by the Medical Scientific Group, which has been established in the Circle of Friends.

During the lectures, information about Bruno Groening, his teachings and the healings will be explained. Everybody will have the opportunity to experience the healing force in their own body and also learn to help others. More than 100,000 people worldwide have attended these lectures.

The Medical Scientific Group (MWF) of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends invites you to attend a free lecture by the following international panel:

Sussan Tahmasebi is a women's rights and civil society activist based in Iran. A founding member of the One Million Signatures Campaign, an effort which seeks to reform laws discriminating against women, she works as a member of the public relations committee and serves as the editor of the English Language website of the Campaign, Change for Equality. For the past ten years she has worked in Iran at the national and grassroots level to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations and to address gender issues and women's rights. She has conducted numerous trainings, including women's leadership and women and peace-building, has coordinated the development of training manuals, including ones addressing women's rights and children's rights in Iran, and has convened several international conferences and events on women. The One Million Signatures Campaign was founded in August 2006 by a group of Iranian women's activists. Its main aim is simple: to collect one million signatures from Iranian citizens in support of a petition demanding an end to laws that discriminate against women. It is a peaceful movement, and is at the present time the most vibrant and widespread element of Iran's civil society. The Campaign is at the present time active in more than 20 Iranian cities and provinces and 13 countries around the world.
