DescriptionIn the past years of the Society of Iranian-American Women for Education's (SIAWE) existence, they honor their scholarship recipients at their Annual Norouz Gala. We weren't able to have the Gala for the last two years, so we are trippling our efforts in hosting this year's Norouz Gala.
Come join us for our Bazaar and Social Hour, "Deed-O-Bazdeed," from 6-8 pm.
Enjoy a beautiful and traditional Haft-Seen, an old Persian representation of the fruits of the New Year, or Norouoz, to come.
A seated dinner, acknowledgement of our scholarship recipients, and the rest of our program will begin after the "Deed-O-Bazdeed."
This year, our guest speaker is the Honorable First Lady of Houston, Andrea White, and entertainment will be provided by Houston's own Amin Safari & his Group.
Tickets are $95 each, and $125 for VIP tickets.

About NISA: The North American Islamic Shelter for Abused (NISA) is a non profit organization dedicated to promoting domestic harmony. Their mission is to help families achieve domestic harmony through education, prevention and intervention. For more information visit www.ask-nisa.org
Dr. Mohamad Iqbal Rajabally was born and raised in the Island of Mauritius. He left Mauritius to study Dentistry in Egypt. He is now with his Wife well established Dentists in Newark, CA. Dr. Rajabally has been living in California for the past 25 years and has been very active in the Muslim community especially in the Bay Area. Currently he is: A member on the executive council of ISNA, The founder and Chairperson of NISA, and A Volunteer Chaplain in Washington Hospital. In the Past he has served as: On the Human Relations Commission for the City of Fremont President of the Islamic Society of East Bay and A Board member of the Tri City Homeless Coalition
Besides being member of several organizations, Dr. Rajabally in well known in the Muslim community for being an eloquent speaker, whereby he has delivered keynote speeches on various Islamic topics.
Dr. Haleh Sheikholeslami was born in Iran and came to USA in 1976. Her undergraduate study was in biochemistry at UC Davis. She attended Hahnemann University Medical School in Philadelphia and graduated in 1993. She then received her training at Bryn Mawr, PA in family practice. Dr. Sheikholeslami worked as a family doctor in large multi-specialty groups in the Bay Area, including Palo Alto Medical Clinic and San Jose Medical Group 1997-2001. She has been in private practice since 2002. Her current interest and practice is limited to holistic and preventative medicine and medical acupunture. She is a firm believer in mind-body-spirit in treating illnesses. Her current passion is in the field of spiritual medicine.

After a successful show in Berkeley, CA, in November of 2008, once again Ma Jasoos Neesteem, a one man comedy written, directed and performed by Mansour Taeed is going on the road. The play "Ma Jasoos Neesteem" is written for general public so that everyone can grasp a better understanding of the situation of the minorities in Iran specially the Baha'I's. This is not a propaganda about the Bahais.
