Drawing on the art of Naghali (dramatic poetry recitation) ICARUS/RISE is a multimedia theatrical piece based on poetry featured in BELONGING: New Poetry by Iranians Around the World , connecting the myth of Icarus with the migration of Iranians, and the solitary journey of the artist/migrant in the quest for freedom.

Commemorating the Millennium of the Shahnamah, a Masterpiece of Classical Persian Poetry and Cosmopolitanism
The Shahnamah Millennium Concert with composer Behzad Ranijbaran, Female Maestro JoAnn Falletta conductor and artistic director Ariana Barkeshli. The Persian Trilogy played in its entirety by membersof the Toronto Symphony Orchestra; projection of famous Persian miniature art on a giant screen; and narration by Tehran-based master story teller Morshed Valiollah Torabi.

Critically acclaimed dance ensemble Ballet Afsaneh presents an evening of dance, music, and poetry drawing on the rich traditions of the Silk Road. The concert combines vibrant, rarely seen, traditional dances and music with cutting-edge, contemporary work. Safar-e Bienteha - Eternal Journey carries the audience on a mesmerizing journey, exploring dance as a vehicle for transcendence and sacred ritual, acknowledging the ancient within the contemporary. Featuring musical guests from the Tarschool Ensemble – with the members of Neydavood classical Persian orchestra, and Uzbek/Tajik percussionist Salokhiddin Fakhriev.
