    Bay Area Social Club & Recreation ™ club has planned an one day get away to the spectacular Napa Valley on Saturday, May 03, 2008. We take you on a posh chartered bus and drive you through a most scenic route while listening to Persian music and enjoying refreshments. Once in Napa we will visit wineries including the renowned Darius winery (http://www.darioush.com) with the replica of the Persepolis.

    Add to that a delicious picnic lunch of Kabob koobideh, and joojeh and the fixings by our famous Persian chef and an excursion to the beautiful and historic downtown Napa for desserts and souvenirs plus the best music and dancing along the way and you will have an unforgettable day making new friends!

    The bus will leave at 9:00 a.m sharp and will return by approximately 6:00 p.m.

Jordan Center for Persian Studies and Culture Hosts a Day-Long Workshop and Discussionto Inaugurate ASSOCIATION for IRANIAN AMERICAN WRITERS (IAWA) May 3, 2008 (9a.m. – 5 p.m.) University of California, Irvine, in the Humanities Instructional Building Room 100. Iranian-American writers represent one of the most recent arrivals in ethnic American literature. Drawing on a rich Persian heritage and a vibrant American literary scene, Iranian-American writers give voice to the complex histories that have shaped their community. A representative group of novelists, poets, fiction and nonfiction writers will come together for a day-long workshop and discussion about what it means to be a writer in the United States, and more specifically, in a place like California.     May 3rd – 4th at the El Rodeo School, on the corner of Whittier and Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills. Come take a walk, picnic and have food on May 3rd at the El Rodeo School in Beverly Hills. Take along your kids, family and friends and celebrate the fight against cancer!

    You can pledge a corporate sponsorship or make a private donation on line to my team. Part of your donation can be pledged to buy Luminaria bags in honor of, or in memory of someone who was touched by cancer. The Luminaria bag costs $10. Bags will be placed around the track and luminated at 9:00 p.m. on May 3rd.
