    Norouz Festival Committee and Hafez Cultural Foundation cordially invite you to the:

    5th Annual Norouz Spring Festival of Northern CA

    This event will be celebrating the 13bedar ritual on Weekend of April 5th and 6th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    The venue, Vasona County Lake Park, is located in Town of Los Gatos, in Northern California.

    Admission is Free. Come and enjoy our entertainment, live free concert, cultural dances, excellent foods and wonderful vendors and sponsors.

    General Parking is available (until full) for $6 and limited Premium Parking is available next to the stage.

    Program: Dinner, Prayer, Lectures by Professor Mahmoud Ayoub and Sheikh Hesham Kabbani, and Spritual Music

    Mahmoud Ayoub was born in 1938 in south Lebanon. He received his Ph.D. in History of Religion from Harvard University in 1975. Upon completion of his education, he has authored a number of books in English and Arabic in the area of Islam and Inter-religious dialogue. The most notable are Redemptive Suffering in Islam and The Qur’an and Its Interpreters (2 volumes to date). He has published over fifty scholarly articles both as chapters in edited works as well as in well-known academic refereed journals. Two of his recent works are Crisis of Muslim History: Religion and Politics in Early Islam, 2003, and (forthcoming, 2004) Islam in Faith and History (both published by Oneworld Publications). Currently he is working on the third volume of The Qur’an and Its Interpreters.

    Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani is a scholar and Sufi shaykh from the Middle East. He graduated from the American University of Beirut in Chemistry. From there he went to Belgium, to continue his Medical Degree in Louvain. Then he received his Islamic Law Degree from Damascus. Kabbani advocates an understanding of Islam described by his supporters as fundamentally based on peace, tolerance, respect and love.
