The Noorsaaz group propels some unique musical nuances that begin with its singer, Ms. Monika Jalili, a classically trained singer with a vocal performance degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Utilizing the musical training and backgrounds of the other talented musicians in the quartet, the group builds a cultural bridge to American and Iranian audiences alike with songs sang in Farsi and translated into English. The three websites included above provide additional information on the strengths of this group and Ms. Monika Jalili. The group performs “Persian folk standards with love songs from the thriving pop scene of pre-revolutionary Iran in the 1950s, 60s and 1970s. NoorSaaz is a portmanteau word combining "Noor" meaning light with "Saaz" meaning both creator and musical instrument. The response to both the CD and live performances by the group has been tremendous, including over 350,000 hits on the web cast of NoorSaaz's concert from Trinity Church in Manhattan in late 2005.”

Noorsaaz is a NY based group with performance tours in the U.S, Europe, Dubai, and Canada. “Noorsaaz brings to life the rich history of Iranian culture through its original orchestration, use of traditional and non-traditional instruments, as well as lyrics in Persian, English and French.” (Modernmask.org)
