Shab Sher of Forough Farrokhzad:



The New Jersey Shab Sher events organizers are proudly presenting yet another successful poetry night on the occassion of the late Iranian female poet, Forough Farrokzad. Forough has had diversified impact on all of us, young, old, contemporary or classic. Her work cannot be ignored nor can it is relegated to a normal expression of our daily lives. She revolutionizes a thinking in us, if we care, to take a yet another look at who and what we are. The answer is not always easy. Dr. Houra Yavari, a scholar at Columbia University, and Mr. Manouchehr Omidvar, a famous journalist and magazine editor, will undertake this presentation of who Forough was and what she did. The site will be the elegent Fiesta at Route 17 South, Wood-Ridge, New Jersey 07075, and out live music performers will be the only Messrs. Nazem and Parzivand.
