Following numerous successful performances these finest leading musicians will play together, in Santa Barbara. They will have an extremely colorful sound universe concert, where Classical Persian composition meets jazz, blues, and world music with an innovative avant-garde soundscape. The music has an exotic, eastern feel with an unusual time signature.
The interconnection of musical colors relates to the tranquil mind environment that Director, Alan Kushan, has absorbed since childhood. The electrifying and mesmerizing performance of Alan Kushan and his band will resonate within all who seek love, peace, and knowledge. Many people have commented that Alan’s spiritual space music radiates warmth, depth, love, and what moves in him has been transformed to others. It is wonderful to hear someone so passionately and touchingly play music of the universal love, serenity, and peace.

World Music peresents:
Explores the rich heritage of Persian classical music and ancient Sufi and contemporary poetry. The concert features three of the most important figures in classical Persian music: Iran's greatest vocalist Mohammad Reza Shajarian, Hossein Alizadeh on tar (long-necked plucked lute) and Kayhan Kalhor on kamancheh (spiked fiddle). They will be accompanied by Shajarian's son Homayoun Shajarian on tombak (goblet drum) and vocals.
