to take this opportunity to relax in a casual setting,
enjoy the company of your old friends, network with new
friends, and savor good food and drink. This is a regular
monthly event, each month in a different location.

NIAC SCHEDULES MEETUPS IN 73 CITIES FOR NATIONAL IRANIAN AMERICAN MEETUP DAY
Wednesday, November 12th at 7pm has been established by NIAC as National Iranian American Meetup Day. So far Iranian Americans have registered for this historic event in 73 different cities including all major metropolitan areas. There's definitely a Meetup near you!

Why: Meet other Iranian Americans and discuss ideas for how we can get invovled in Election 2004

Meetups are casual, face-to-face get-togethers that are in your local neighborhood. Meetup venues can range from coffeehouses and bookstores to bars and restaurants. The best part is everyone in your community votes on where it should be!
The top Meetup cities as of November 4th are Washington DC; Orange County, CA; Montgomery County, MD; Santa Clara County, CA; and New York, NY, but this ranking changes as new people register. NIAC even has Iranian American Meetups happening in towns as small as Birmingham, Alabama and Nashua, NH!
The goal of this day is to connect Iranian Americans at the local level to jump start the national dialogue on how Iranian Americans can become more involved the upcoming 2004 election. Plus it is a great way to get out of the house and meet people on a Wednesday night!
Registration is simple.

2. Enter your zip code or city to find the Meetup nearest you
3. Register for the Meetup
4. Vote where you think your local Meetup should be.
5. Email NIAC with your name, city and if you'd like to help NIAC in organizing your local Meetup.
Once voting is completed, you'll receive another email telling you of the location and asking you to confirm your attendance. As long as there are at least 5 confirmed attendees, the Meetup will be scheduled. So to insure the success of your Meetup be sure you tell your friends about the Meetup.
With the 2004 Election rapidly approaching, there is no better day than today to get involved in a campaign. Involvement can range from just registering to vote and following the issues to volunteering or even working full time for the candidate. One fact is undeniable, the earlier Iranian Americans become involved in campaigns as Republicans, Democrats, Independents or any other party, the greater influence we have on their political platforms and the issues addressed by these campaigns. NIAC's goal is to put an Iranian American face on every campaign in the country.
