BAIAD's monthly meeting will be held in Campbell this month.

Agenda:
1- Open discussion on BAIAD's conference in August to start helping Obama Presidency.
2- Election of officers for BAIAD -- All members present may cast their vote.
3- Report on Santa Clara Democratic party's June meeting.
4- Any other issue? open discussion
Minutes of the last meeting on May 14th at the Orchard Valley Cafe in Campbell.
Presents: We had 7 people present: Mehrdad Moazamy, Sousan Manteghi, Hamid Karimi, David Santen, Fahimeh Eghtessadi, Morteza Tajally, John from Impeach Bush Coalition & Mehdi Safipour (that is me)
1- Morteza gave a short report on Darius Shahinfar fund raising in Los Gatos. Darius Shahinfar is running for congress in upstate New York. He is a Democrat and he is in a tight primary race. The primary Election in New York will be held in September. Darius Shahinfar was here try to raise money for his campaign. Morteza and Mehdi attended his fundraising. His web site is: www.dariusforcongress.com. Hopefully we can help him by doing phone banking from California.
2- Discussion about Presidential primary was a hot topic. Everyone agreed that Obama will be the Democratic candidate for President and June 3rd will finalize that. ( and it did )
3- John from Impeach Bush Coalition gave us a short report on what is going on. Why it has not happen!! Who has been stopping it!! What can BAIAD members do. His presentation was very informative.
4- Susan Manteghi spoke about the JJ diner at Fremont Hotel, in San Jose. BAIAD had a table this year.
5- Mehrdad brought up the idea of organizing an event in August or September to kick off getting involve with the Obama Campaign and other local candidates. The main idea is to get Iranian-Americans involve in political campaign. Given the popularity of Obama in the Iranian community we think this should be the golden opportunity to have Iranian-American involve in a political campaign.
