Darvag, is pleased to return to the Intersection with Suitcase, Farhad Ayeesh’s seminal work presented for the first time in English. Translated from the original Farsi by Bella Warda, Suitcase (Chamédân) explores issues of identity and displacement from an Iranian perspective with global reverberations. The plot is driven by a series of spontaneous and stylized social engagements. Characters from all walks of life portrayed by a multicultural cast enter a transitory space with a suitcase in hand that never leaves their side. They exchange glances, share stories, opinions and at times seemingly meaningless banter. Bound by their cultural ties and revelations, the travelers find solace in their interactions in contrast with their omni-present reality; a stark reminder that they are in an unknown space facing an uncertain future.
