July 19, 200612:00 PM » Global Vigil for Gay Iranians19 July 2006 = International Day of Action Against Homophobic Persecution in Iran To mark the first anniversary of Iran's hanging of two gay teenagers, Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni, we declare July 19 an International Day of Action against homophobic persecution in Iran. We call for worldwide protests against the murderous, homophobic Iranian regime and in commemoration the two gay teenagers executed on this day last year. To that end, we are organizing public demonstrations in more than 20 cities around the world, including London, Amsterdam, and San Diego.
