The band continues to celebrate the popularity of their recently released CD, The Spot. Raised as a child in Iran, and later living in Switzerland, Germany, France and finally the United States, Aram Danesh’s multi-cultural upbringing has infused his guitar playing and music with a number of different cultural elements, styles, genres, and languages. His high-energy, danceable tunes blend eclectic influences of Latin, hip-hop, reggae, electronica, jazz and Middle Eastern music. He has shared the stage with Carlos Santana, Clarence Clemmons, Henry Butler and Ravi Coltrane and has performed extensively in the Bay Area, including the North Beach Jazz Festival, the Black and White Ball and a gig opening for Michael Franti during the San Francisco leg of last month’s “Passport to the World” tour. Today, a new global pop sensibility is emerging, one that's concerned with universal community and breaking down musical barriers. Unlike the "world beat" movement of the '80s, this sensibility is not restricted by imaginary notions of authenticity. Its roots are the dancehalls and clubs of international cities like New York, Berlin and San Francisco and its appetite for the groove - regardless of its country of origin - marks it as one of the most exciting musical developments of the new century. Aram Danesh and The Super Human Crew proves that they are on the cutting edge of this new sound. The Super Human Crew consists of Bay Area musicians with experience in some of the most popular bands including Vinyl, Felonious, David Grisman, Nobody From Ipanema and Beach Blanket Babylon. Danesh’s latest CD, The Spot, has been garnering rave reviews. Perhaps Download.com says it best when claiming “The audio alchemy directed by Aram Danesh leads you to believe he's got a PHD in chemistry. The Bay Area guitarist has put together a talented cast of musicians, rappers, vocalists and producers to execute his worldly musical vision. The eclectic grooves put forth by this ensemble contain funk, Latin, hip-hop, and jazz elements, all of which arouse a need to move your body.” For a review copy of The Spot or electronic photos of the Aram Danesh and the Super Human Crew, please contact Denise Lamott at (415) 897-5089 or lamoore1@verizon.net.
