Please join us at the corporate offices of Cooley Godward for a lecture by Professor Behrokh Khoshnevis, sponsored by the Northern California Chapter of Sharif University of Technology Association (NCC-SUTA). Dr. Khoshnevis is professor of Industrial & Systems Engineering at USC, as well as the Director of the Center for Rapid Automated Construction Technologies (CRAFT) and the Director of Manufacturing Engineering at USC. He is active in CAD/CAM, robotics, and mechatronics-related research and development projects that include the development of two novel Rapid Prototyping processes with applications from automated construction of housing structures to restorative dentistry and rehabilitation engineering, and autonomous mobile and modular robots for assembly applications on earth and in space. Dr. Khoshnevis is a Fellow of the Society for Computer Simulation, a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and a Senior Member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Dr. Khoshnevis' talk will focus on creative and inventive thinking and the pursuit of novel ideas that lead to the successful creation of new products, processes, systems, and artistic works. In his talk, Dr. Khoshnevis will also make use of several case studies from his own inventions which have received wide coverage by the media, including the New York Times, Discover, Popular Science, Der Spiegel, New Scientist, and NBC Nightly News. His talk is intended for a general audience.
